Scott Walker

The game changed on November 4, when Walker was re-elected as Governor of Wisconsin, his third win in the traditionally blue state that Obama carried twice. Although he polls behind leading favorites Mitt Romney, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush, a well-crafted message could change those numbers drastically. Walker is simply not as well-known, and performs terribly on television. It is very likely that those taking the polls simply do not know this hidden gem of the G.O.P.

Of course, that’s not to say that there wouldn’t be downfalls to a Walker presidency. He has fought against marriage equality in his home state, lost cases against the Supreme Court regarding unconstitutional Voter ID laws, and has been investigated for shady political dealings, including illegal fundraising and bypassing election laws. Luckily for Walker, no one was ever charged.

Walker may lack the charisma and experience of many of his opponents, but as far as potential Republican candidates go, he’s someone who can be controlled, as well as trusted to not go off the deep end. These days in the G.O.P., that’s saying a lot.
