Why is Florida such a crap shoot? It has everything to do with their population. Many Floridians are not native to the state, but lured by coastal living and year-round temperate climates. Another 2.4 voters are registered as independent. There is a large Hispanic population, and the landscape varies dramatically from rural to urban. Of all 50 states, Florida is the hardest to predict, and with 29 electoral votes, one of the most desirable to win.
