Ben Carson

After leading or running second in the GOP polls during the summer and fall Carson has fallen to earth. Donald Trump, poor debate performances, and disarray in his campaign have all contributed to Dr. Carson’s fall from favor.

Ben Carson was never considered a truly serious candidate for the general election.  His record of making outrageous remarks would have received widespread play in the general election and would have shocked most Americans.  For example, in an interview with GQ magazine, Carson made some truly memorable remarks that would  cause most Americans to dismiss him as a serious candidate. Among his more strange comments:

“What is the role of the Knesset?” Carson asked an Israeli during a recent trip to Israel. “It sounds complex, why don’t they just adopt the system we have?”

Carson, watching President Obama deliver the 2015’s State of the Union address commented on a remark made by another watcher who said the president looked “elegant.” in his white shirt and tie. “Like most psychopaths,” Carson responded. “That’s why they’re successful. That’s the way they look. They all look great.”

Pretty far out rhetoric for a presidential candidate and it is likely to cause most voters to dismiss Carson out of hand as a dingbat.
